 Dear Clients

You may have noticed, and wondered why, my blog posts stopped during 2015?

The reason was that I ceased trading as a self-employed Garden Designer in 2016 as I had a full-time role working as a Garden/Product Designer for a Monumental Mason's company in Hull that installed their bespoke products in Crematorium Gardens Of Remembrance all over the UK.

Furloughed during the first Covid-19 lock-down in 2020, I spent my time gardening, took on an over-grown allotment and re-started undertaking freelance garden design for local Clients that were homebound and wanted to improve their outside space.

In August 2020 I started a new job role as the full-time Garden Designer for Astek Garden Design And Build, who have been trading thirty years and are based just outside York on the boundary of North And East Yorkshire.

Astek was formed by award winning Garden Designer, Richard Keast, and has a loyal, dedicated team of Landscape Craftsman who have constructed hundreds of gardens of varying size, complexity and budget over the years.

As the Pandemic continues and alfresco home living is more-and-more desireable, Astek has seen a continued demand for garden features such as Garden Offices, Hot-tub Areas, Outdoor Kitchens, Glass/Shaded Verandahs, "Man Caves", Composite Decking Terraces, Resin-bound Gravel Driveways, Garden Lighting, Privacy Screening and Planting, all of which have been integrated in to recent design proposals.

Meanwhile a high demand for more general landscaping e.g. Indian Sandstone Paving, Block-Paved Driveways and Timber Fencing etc. has also been received and satisfied.

Initially educated at Askham Bryan College (like myself) and, subsequently, Bishop Burton College, Richard has prepared his drawings the traditional way on the drawing board using pen and ink and generally produced 2D Plan Drawings with occasionally 3D hand-drawn sketches of bespoke garden structures if needed.

I, myself used to produce my designs this way but have since embraced computed-aided-design to produce very accurate 2D technical drawings and near photo-realistic 3D images to enable the Client to visualise their future ouside space from the onset.

Astek offer a "turn-key" service to their Client's from Garden Survey and Garden Design through to Landscaping and subsequent Routine Garden Maintenance all under the guidance of a dedicated Project Manager.

Generally operating within a one hour's travelling radius of York, Astek Garden Design And Build can Design and Construct Residential Garden Spaces in a geographical area encompassing Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby, North Leeds, Malton, Pickering, Scarborough, Selby, Beverley and The West Hull Villages.

If you like what you see on my website, live in the geographical area described above and wish myself to design your garden, please contact: Richard Keast at Astek Garden Design And Build by either email or telephone 01904 627764.

Alternatively, If you live in the East Hull Villages, Holderness or South Of The Humber Bridge and wish me to design your garden, please contact me: via. this website and I will get back to you. However, please bear in mind that I would undertake any work on a part-time, freelance basis via. weekend work and it may take some time to complete the design process.

Kind Regards

David Beasley
